What began as a bold vision in an early unit in Burscough evolved through pivotal moves to Scarisbrick and Knowsley, before returning home to a cutting-edge, purpose-built facility in modern-day Burscough. Kee Connections has grown hand-in-hand with the region — from modest beginnings to becoming one of the UK’s most respected OEM manufacturers of quick connect couplings and compressed air solutions.
2008: Early Ambitions Take Root in Burscough
Kee Connections was founded in 2008 by Tony Keeley at the height of the global financial downturn. With support from local firm Kirkwood Wilson Accountants, Kee Connections began its journey in Burscough, laying its first foundations in a modest industrial unit.
Even in those early days, the company stood out — driven by a commitment to quality, precision engineering, and personal service. As orders increased, it quickly became clear that the business needed more space to support its ambitions.
Scarisbrick: From Idea to Momentum
The move from Burscough to a workshop in Scarisbrick marked the next stage of growth. With improved operational capacity, Kee Connections refined its offering and strengthened production control.
During this period, the company’s reputation for high-quality couplings, hoses, and connectors gained momentum, supported by deeper customer engagement and a growing portfolio of OEM clients.
2010–2017: Knowsley – Scaling Up and Thinking Bigger
As growth accelerated, relocating to Knowsley proved transformational. The expanded facility enabled advanced production lines, R&D innovation, and enhanced assembly operations — establishing Kee Connections as a formidable force in the OEM manufacturing sector.
By this stage, the company had entered global markets, delivering custom-engineered solutions across automotive, pharmaceuticals, water management, and safety sectors.
By 2017, Kee Connections had achieved nearly £1 million in turnover, firmly positioning itself as a serious player within UK manufacturing.
2025: Back to Burscough – A Purpose-Built HQ for the Future
Today, Kee Connections has returned to Burscough — this time to a bespoke, future-ready facility at Barracuda Business Park. More than a relocation, this marks the beginning of a new growth phase.
Developed in partnership with Crompton Developments, the new headquarters sets a benchmark for modern manufacturing. With scalable production lines, smart logistics systems, optimised warehousing, and a sustainable footprint, the facility is designed not only for today’s needs but for tomorrow’s ambitions.
Why Burscough? Because It’s Grown, Too
In 2008, Burscough was not yet the advanced industrial hub it has become. Today, it stands as one of the North West’s most promising regions for high-tech manufacturing, logistics, and innovation — offering strong connectivity and a growing community of forward-thinking businesses.
Returning to Burscough was both a strategic and symbolic decision, reconnecting with the company’s roots while embracing a broader, more ambitious future.
